Gold Coast Amateur Radio Association
We would like to highlight a very special upcoming GCARA meeting on May 26 — one you won’t want to miss.
📅 GCARA Meeting – May 26
At this meeting, we will honor
Shirley Ritchie
as a Life Member Honoree.
Shirley will also share a personal presentation about her late husband,
Chuck Ritchie,
a co-founder of our club.
After Chuck’s passing, his call sign W4BUG was adopted as the official club call sign — a legacy that continues to represent GCARA on the air today.
This will be a unique opportunity to hear firsthand about the early days of our club and the people who helped build it.
SEFTN is always looking for volunteer Net Control Stations. If an assigned NCS is unable to do their net they will contact other
Net Control Stations or the alternates to find a replacement. All you need is an amateur radio license and some experience on the
net so you are familiar with traffic and taking check-ins. Check our documents page for NCS documents to see the preamble and
closing statements. If you are interested please send an email to Kenny Hollenbeck KE4NC the net Manager
Mike Wolf KD4OVP the assistant net manager
